Stribe

Privacy Policy

Last updated July 2026

1. Who we are

Stribe Back to School is a private continuing-education platform for dental professionals, operated by STRIBE HOLDINGS INC ("Stribe," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy covers the website at backtoschool.stribe.dental and the Stribe Back to School apps for iOS and Android, which display the same platform.

Questions about this policy, or about the personal information we hold about you, go to contact@stribe.dental.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. Your name, email address, and mobile number are used to create your account and to sign you in. You may also add your dental specialty, practice name, country, and a profile photo. If you request a continuing education certificate, we collect the details needed to issue it.

Content you create. Bookmarks and saved items, and — where a feature that accepts your content is switched on — what you post through it. The community discussion board (threads, replies, reactions and uploaded images) is currently disabled; historical posts from when it was available remain in our database and are covered by this policy.

Education records. Course attendance, certificates we have issued to you, and — where the platform's gamification features are enabled — badges and points.

Technical information. Your IP address, which we use for rate limiting and abuse prevention; the type of browser or device you are using; and, in production, error reports when something in the app fails.

Push notification token. If you turn on notifications in the mobile app, the operating system issues a device token that we store against your account so a notification can reach the right device. You can revoke it at any time in your device settings or in the app.

Usage analytics. When you use the platform in a web browser we record page views and feature usage. Analytics are switched off entirely in the iOS and Android apps— the apps send no analytics events. There is no session recording or screen replay anywhere on the platform.

Feedback you choose to send. The iOS and Android apps include an in-app feedback feature (it may be switched off on our side at any time). Shaking your phone opens a feedback form — the shake itself records nothing. If you choose to submit a report, we collect: the category and description you typed, the screen of the app you were on (the page path only, never a full address), the app version and build, your operating system version, and whether your device is a phone or a tablet. If — and only if — you tap Attach screenshot, a single screenshot of the visible screen is taken after the form hides, and you can black out any part of it before sending. Reports are visible only to Stribe administrators, are never shared with any third-party feedback service, and are deleted automatically 30 days after you send them. Nothing is captured in the background: no screen recording, no session replay, and no screenshot without that explicit tap.

3. What we do not collect

  • No advertising identifiers (no IDFA), and no tracking of you across other companies' apps or websites.
  • No location data, and no access to your contacts.
  • No microphone or camera access, no screen or session recording, and no reading of your clipboard. (The optional feedback screenshot in section 2 is a single frame taken only when you tap to attach it — never a recording, and never taken on its own.)
  • No patient records or protected health information. This is a professional education platform — please do not post patient identifiers in discussions or upload identifiable patient imagery.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers.

4. How we use information

  • To create your account and sign you in.
  • To give you access to course content, discussions, and your continuing education records.
  • To issue and re-send your CE certificates.
  • To send you service messages, newsletters, and — if you opt in — push notifications about your certificates and your access level.
  • To keep the platform secure: verifying sign-ins, limiting abusive request volume, and diagnosing errors.

5. Service providers

We use the following companies to run the platform. Each one receives only the data it needs for its stated purpose, and none of them is permitted to use your information for its own advertising.

Course registration and payment for in-person courses are handled on the course organiser's own website. Those links open in your browser, outside the app, and any details you enter there are governed by that organiser's privacy policy rather than this one.

6. Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself, from inside the app or the website — you do not need to email us and you do not need to explain why. Open Profile, tap Help & account deletion under Support, and choose Delete account. You will be asked to confirm your identity with a one-time code before the deletion runs. Step-by-step instructions are on our support page.

When you delete your account:

  • Before anything is removed, we email you a copy of every continuing education certificate you have earned, so your CE record is not lost. A copy of that email is also kept in our own records so that we can respond to future CE verification requests from licensing boards. If we cannot send that email, the deletion is stopped and nothing is removed.
  • Your profile, contact details, sign-in credentials, saved items, notifications, certificates, course attendance, and push tokens are deleted from our database.
  • Discussion threads and replies you posted are kept but disconnected from you, and shown as written by "Deleted member." This is deliberate: removing them would destroy the replies other members wrote underneath. They no longer carry your name, email, or photo.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Copies may persist for a short period in routine encrypted backups held by our hosting and database providers before those backups age out.

7. Your choices and rights

  • Access and correction. You can view and edit your profile information at any time from the Profile screen.
  • Deletion. See section 6 above. You may also write to contact@stribe.dental and we will action the request for you.
  • Email. Newsletters carry an unsubscribe link. Messages required to operate your account, such as sign-in codes, cannot be switched off while the account exists.
  • SMS. Reply STOP to any message to stop verification texts.
  • Push notifications. Turn them off in your device settings, or from the Profile screen in the app.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information, including the right to a copy of it and the right to object to certain processing. Contact us at the address above and we will respond.

8. How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as it is doing the job it was collected for. By category:

  • Account and profile — for as long as your account exists. Deleted with it.
  • Sign-in codes and links — minutes. They expire and are single-use.
  • Push tokens — until you turn notifications off, sign out, or delete your account.
  • Rate-limiting counters — minutes to hours, then they expire automatically.
  • Posts you have written — kept, but disconnected from you when you delete your account (section 6).
  • CE certificates we issued — retained after deletion, because continuing education credit may need to be verified with a licensing board years after it was earned.
  • In-app feedback reports — including any attached screenshot — deleted automatically 30 days after you send them, or immediately when you delete your account, whichever comes first.
  • Error reports — held by our monitoring provider on its own rolling schedule, and not tied to an identified person in what we send.

We have not set a fixed number of days for categories where our systems do not actually enforce one — stating a period we do not hold ourselves to would be worse than saying this plainly.

9. Security

Sign-in codes and account-deletion confirmations are hashed before storage, sessions are encrypted and signed, and all traffic runs over HTTPS. Access to member data is restricted to Stribe administrators. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise; if a breach affects your information we will notify you as required by law.

10. Children

The platform is intended for licensed dental professionals and dental students. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

11. Where your information is held

STRIBE HOLDINGS INC is based in the United States, and the providers listed in section 5 process data in the United States and other countries. By using the platform you understand that your information will be handled in those locations.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a revised "last updated" date, and where the change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email.
